Q: What COVID-19 protocols and capcity limits will be in place?
A: Covid-19 protocols are listed on our website. The event will be runinng at 60% capacity.
Q: How does the sampling work?
A: To sample you must purchase a wristband for $8. The wristband is good for the entire weekend. We will be using one-time use recyclable cups or you can re-use the glass you purchased in a previous year. 5oz samples cost $2 each.
Q: Are people under 19 allowed in?
A: Because the event involves alcohol, people under the age of 19 will be admitted only if they are accompanied by an adult - ie. their parents, not their 20 year old friend.
Q: What does the food cost?
A: There is a variety of food to purchase. The main item of course is ribs and chicken. Prices range from $11 for a pulled pork sandwich to $26 for a full rack. We also have bbq'd corn on the cob, ice cream, tornado potatoes, waffles, colossal onion and more.
Q: What forms of payment do you accept?
A: This year we will be accepting cash, debit and credit for alcohol token purchases. Many of the food vendors have credit and debit in addition to accepting cash. There is also an ATM on-site.
Q: Can we bring our dog / pet into the event?
A: No. The event is very crowded and also involves food so please leave your pets at home.
Q: Can I smoke at Ribfest?
A: Due to changes in the Smoke Free Ontario Act, the entire Ribfest site is smoke free. This includes cigarettes, vaping and cannabis. You are welcome to step outside the fenced area to smoke.
Q: Where can I park?
A: The best bet is either cab or public transit. This will avoid any chance of drinking and driving. If you are not drinking and decide to drive there are several city owned lots within a 5-10 walk. Click HERE to see a map of parking lots in the downtown or click HERE to see parking lot details.
Q: How many different beers will there be to sample?
A: There will be 12-14 breweries with over 40 different brands available for sampling.
Q: Is there anything other than beer?
A: Yes, there are vendors sampling coolers, cider and spirits as well as non-alcoholic drinks - water, pop and lemonade.
Q: Is the event wheelchair accessible?
Q: What happens if it rains?
A: The event goes rain or shine so if there is the potential for rain, you may want to bring an umbrella. There will also be a large 60'x200' tent set-up in the middle of the space to provide some cover from sun or rain.
Q: What do the kids activities cost?
A: Each play is one ticket. Tickets cost - 1 for $3, 4 for $10, 10 for $10 or an all day wristband for $20. If you return the next day still wearing the wristband, you get a new one for half price.
Q: What am I allowed to bring in?
A: Feel free to bring a water bottle, umbrella, or chairs for your comfort. And enjoy!
